TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Class I Special Immigration Office of Soekarno-Hatta Airport noted that 71,416 foreign nationals had entered Indonesian soil through the airport. These are arrivals recorded between December 7 and 21, ahead of Christmas.
“On average, there have been 4,761 foreigners entering Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s immigration per day,” the airport’s Immigration Office chief Muhammad Tito Andrianto said on Friday, December 23.
Tito said that the foreign travelers mostly came from Malaysia (13,398 people), Singapore (8,189 people), China (7,689 people), Korea (4,920 people) and Japan (4,499 people).
Christmas Holiday Peak
Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s executive general manager Dwi Ananda Wicaksana estimated that the peak flight flow for the 2022 Christmas holidays will be today, December 23.
Dwi said that the number of flights at Soekarno Hatta Airport during the peak period of Christmas and New Year 2023 is predicted to reach 1,090 aircraft per day.
“In total, there will be 159,282 passengers during the 2022-2023 year-end holiday period,” Dwi said.
