TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Director of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura or AP II Muhammad Awaluddin said the peak of flight departures for the 2022 Christmas season would occur on December 22 and 23, 2022.

Awaluddin estimated that the takeoff and landing movement at Soekarno Hatta Airport will exceed 1,050 on Friday, December 23, 2022.

“Yesterday, it reached 1,026 movements. This is an indication that our recovery rate has attained 100 percent,” Awaluddin told journalists at the Umrah Lounge of Soekarno Hatta Airport, Friday, December 23, 2022.

Awaluddin added that daily aircraft movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport amounted to nearly 300. The total number of flight movements per day in all airports under the authority of AP II was already over 1,300. As for the passenger movements, it was close to 250,000.

Awaluddin further said that AP II planned to rebalance the capacity of the international and domestic terminals, such as increasing the aircraft and passenger movement in Terminal 2F from 40 to 70.

“Terminal 2F and Terminal 3 will share roles in international passenger movements,” said Awaluddin.
